Employment Medicine started it's small boutique practice at the AMA House in South Australia in 2010, when Dr D Tran formally obtained his Fellowship with the Australasian Faculty of Occupational and Environmental Medicine


The clinic offered the unique, personalized services for the rehabilitation and restoration of injured workers for suitable, long term employment while involving all stakeholders to achieve an optimal outcome based on the current legal and medical evidences in the literature. The focus has always been "the best outcome driven" for all stakeholders with non bias nor judgmental treatment.
 
Prior to 2010, we also had another decade of working in this industry as a subcontractor helping various industries along the Eastern States, Northern Territories and in South Australia.
 
The medical clinic specialises in the assessment and management of workplace injury, motor vehicle accident injury, nerve conduction testing and medicolegal assessment.
 
After more than 2 decades of work in the industries in Australia, various post fellowship sub-specialisation training in the USA (especially with Nerve Conduction Testing, Medical Legal Assessment and Medtech) and helping numerous doctors, clients and patients we extended our services to the rest of Australia since 2021. We understand that the clients and patients need much more quality services that have not been comprehensively offered prior.
 
We developed Employment Medicine SA (EMSA) since early 2022 with quality staffs to assist doctors, employers and patients in the complex work health and motor vehicle injury journey. The first EMSA clinic will be opened at the Parafield Airport on 3rd October 2023. We endeavour to support EMSA to serve the clients' and patients' needs and provide much more effective and efficient care.
 
Employment Medicine will continue to provide the specialist care and will work alongside EMSA at the Parafield Airport too. We finally have the plane and the airside access within our main clinic to improve our rural services as well.
 
October 2023 is our big milestone for both companies!

Employment Medicine Nerve Conduction Testing
Dr Danh Tran is the director of Employment Medicine Pty Ltd in North Adelaide. The medical clinic specializes in assessment, management, rehabilitation of workplace injury, motor vehicle accident injury and also nerve conduction testing.
 
He is an active Fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Occupational & Environmental Medicine (FAFOEM) of the Royal College of Physicians and an active Certified Independent Medical Examiner (CIME) by the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners (ABIME).
 
Dr Tran received training locally in South Australia, interstate (predominantly QLD) and also overseas with the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners, American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, Ohio State University and Harvard Medical School. He has an in-depth understanding of the legal compensatory systems in South Australia, the occupational rehabilitation and neuro-musculoskeletal medicine.
 
His practice is unique and is evidence based. The assessment and or treatment are based on the latest legal and medical evidences in the literature and is not biased to the plaintiff or the defendant side or of other stakeholders/doctors/allied health professionals. The assessment is comprehensive and will contain extensive direct and indirect questions to obtain crucial medical and or legal information for the purpose of evidence based medicine.
 
For a mutually optimal and evidence based outcome he is prepared to attend the work site, case conference, reconciliation meeting, the Tribunal or the Court to help both sides with dispute resolution. He has a proven track record in this field.
 
Additionally, he provides early treatment and rehabilitation to the injured patients via referral from their treating doctors to assist the patients to return to work and activities of daily living following either a work or motor vehicle accident injury. He performs nerve conduction test using the latest techniques from both Ohio State University and the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine for Medicare, work injured and motor vehicle accident injured patients to assist with early diagnosis and early treatment to maximise the outcome and prevent residual symptoms.
 
His particular interests are in:

  • Hazardous Substance Health Surveillance.
 
He is also an accredited assessor and highly sought after to provide an accurate, non-bias Permanent Impairment Assessment for both plaintiffs and defendants using the AMA4, AMA5, AMA6, Comcare and Return to Work SA Guides. He is an Independent Medical Advisor for the South Australian Employment Tribunal appointed by the Minister.
